Use the telephone system for the first time
If you have subscribed to eOffice's telephone service, you can use any telephone in the office. When you arrive, you will be given a membership pack with details of your telephone number, your extension number and your pin code.
To log in to a telephone, first check nobody is logged in to that handset. A handset that has been logged into will display the time and date. If this is the case, press the button labelled Logout on the handset. To login, pick up the phone (or press the speaker button) and dial:
111[extension number]#[pin code]#
For example, if your extension number is 6809 and your pin code 1234, you would need to dial 1116809#1234#. The time and date should now be shown on the handset and you can use the telephone as normal. Dial 9 for an outside line.
To log out from a telephone press the Logout button on the right of the handset.
Please remember to log out otherwise other centre users will be able to make calls on your number, which will be added to your bill.
While your line is engaged (or you do not answer or you are logged out), incoming calls will be forwarded to your voicemail. If you are using the system for the first time, you will need to configure your voicemail including your welcome message. To do this, log onto your phone and hit the key marked voicemail. Then just follow the spoken instructions.
To check your voicemail when outside of eOffice, dial your voicemail number. When you are put through to voicemail, key in your extension and pin code and follow the instructions.
Connecting to the Internet via an Ethernet cable
To access this service, you will need to connect to our office (LAN) network. Most computers already have a built-in LAN card (also known as an Ethernet, 10/100, 10-Based-T or NIC card). LANs run at speeds of either 10 or 100 Mb/s. The eOffice network supports both speeds. To connect to the network, you will have to change your Local Area Connection settings in the network settings control panel. The information on IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS server is located at each workstation on a white card. Please contact technical support at technical@eoffice.net of you need help.
Connecting to the Internet via wireless connection (WiFi)
To use this service, you will need to connect to our office (LAN) network. Most new laptop computers have a built in Wireless adapter and any laptop without this can attach a separate card (Typically a PCMCIA Card). Wireless networks run at speeds of 11Mbit / 54Mbit or 108Mbit, also known as the 802.11a and 802.11g standards – eOffice supports all standards. On connecting to the network, eOffice will automatically supply the connecting laptop with an IP number through our DHCP server and will not ask for a login and password (i.e. WEP or WPA encryption). Any WiFi enabled laptop can start using the broadband, just by turning it on and selecting the access point that is in range – eOffice WiFi - no setup is needed.
Network my computer with another computer
For security reasons, our network does not allow you to access computers belonging to other eOffice members from your computer. However, if you need to work with other users, for example, for file/printer sharing, we can set up a vLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) or you can purchase a mini hub (additional broadband charges will apply). Please contact technical support at technical@eoffice.net to have this set up for you.
Printing and copying
We have provided networked digital colour printers and copiers in partnership with Canon. Please contact technical support at technical@eoffice.net to have printing set up for you. Printing and copying is available on a price per copy basis.
Using the printer as a fax
To use the fax option you will need to use the printer code and printer password given to you and summarized on your white utility card.
Scan to email
To use the scan to email option you will need to use the printer code and printer password given to you and summarized on the white utility card. You will be able to scan in PDF or TIFF format.
